i am moving to argentina, and i was wondering if there were any italian speaking provinces or areas. and i mean no castellano, not the dialect and accents of italy either. only italian language.
Answer on Where can you speak italian in argentina?
Spanish is the official language, but there were so many Italian immigrants to Argentina in the 20th century that Italian is the second-most spoken language there. They estimate that 1.5 million people in Argentina speak Italian.
Italian has influenced the Spanish spoken in the area called Rio de la Plata so much that the Spanish dialect can be mistaken for Italian. So the Rio de la Plata area, which includes Buenos Aires and Montevideo, is probably your best bet. I.e., the largest cities, where the most Italians settled. Good luck!
