8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; (KJV)
Astronomical bodies are spherical, and you cannot see the entire exterior surface from any place. The kingdoms of Egypt, China, Greece, Crete, sections of Asia Minor, India, Maya (in Mexico), Carthage (North Africa), Rome (Italy), Korea, and other settlements from these kingdoms of the world were widely distributed.
The flat Earth is established and can never move?! The Sun hurries back to where it rises?!
The Psalm 104:5 and Ecclesiastes 1:5 verses from the Bible in this section were sent to me by Abdullah Bisyir; may Allah Almighty always be pleased with him.
"He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. (From the NIV Bible, Psalm 104:5)"
the Bible is clearly not god's word , if it was , it wouldn't say that the earth is flat .
so answer my question : Why does the Bible say the earth is flat ???
Answer on Why does the Bible say the Earth is FLAT ????
Where does it actually say "flat?" In fact, the Bible says that God "sits enthroned above the circle of the earth" (Isaiah 40:22). Circle implies round in my mind, but as for all these objections you raise, if you are serious, you only have to know how to speak any language to recognize figures of speech. When Jesus came into Jerusalem, the critics commented about how the "whole world" was running out to see him. No logical thinker would assume they meant everyone everywhere on the face of the whole globe. And if Satan could show Christ the kingdoms of the world, it is unlikely he meant, "hey, look a million miles over there jesus, can you see the indians on North America?" It meant the known world, and there was obviously a spiritual dimension at play that could have had vision-like images appear before their very eyes.
Look, we use figures all the time. "It's raining cats and dogs" means a heavy downpour, not that felines and canines are dropping from the clouds. We like to watch beautiful sunsets, but the sun doesn't literally set, does it? We just rotate and it appears that way so we call it as we see it. If I said I walked from here to Timbuktu, I would only mean "very far," and if I've told you something a "million times," it just means alot.
You need to give the benefit of the doubt to God's Word, and use your head when you see obvious usage of language. The earth is not flat, and the Bible doesn't say so.
