Everyone's always saying you need to have a "healthy diet" but what the hell does that even mean? I'm 13 years old. I mean should i just eat fruits for breakfast lunch and dinner or what?!?!?! Like i have no idea what the ******* hell im supposed to eat for a healthy diet. So you guys tell me what exactly i should eat for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner and give me examples of healthy meals.
Answer on What EXACTLY is a healthy diet?
We can't tell you what YOU should be eating because we don't know what resources you have, what kind of a kitchen you have, how you can or can't cook, how much you know about macronutrients and nutrition in general, etc. What you should be doing at 13 is studying and learning about food, nutrition, exerecise, fitness, your body, etc. so you'll be well prepared to be a good steward of your health and well being for the rest of your life. There's much to lean and no one is going to teach it to you unless you have much more health-conscious adults around you than most of us do.
In general, you should eat a diet of varied, wholesome, and high quality foods such that your daily caloric intake is about equal to your daily caloric burn while keeping your macronutrient ratios at about 55/25/20 (%calories from carbs/fats/protein). And don't do anything to defeat the foregoing plan such as taking supplements, drinking alcohol, abusing drugs, using cleanses or emetics, etc. That's it. It's that simple.
As for what specific foods you eat, that's a very big subject and we don't even know what country you're in. There are people in this forum who eat exotic foods I've never even heard of. That said, I can show you what I eat. It's not a great diet, but it's better than average. Go here ---> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/c…
Here's an excellent website for you. Be sure to bookmark it and use it. It's been recommended by the US National Institute of Health and has tons of information about your growing and changing body. --> http://teenshealth.org/teen/ This website should answer a lot of questions for you over the next several years.
Finally, here are some links which you may find useful. Many have information about fat loss dieting because they don't make websites which are designed to teach tweens and teens how to eat right specifically. Most of the "good eating" websites are related to fat loss dieting because the first world has too much obesity. Nonetheless, you can learn from them. You'll find healthy recipes, food info, nutrients, etc.
