I know there are kingdoms in Italy...or castles really. I just wanted to know where.
Also, if you know, when the time of "Kings and Queens" were. Not the medieval times, but you know, like 1400s and such, where there were fancy dresses, special rules, rivalries, betrothals, and castles made out of stone?
Thank you so much!
Answer on Where are there kingdoms in Italy, if they exist? Castles?
Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in the southern mainland and Sicily, the Kingdom of Sardinia, which also included the northern region of Piedmont, and then there were several city-states throughout Italy. Among these were city-states like Florence, Pisa, Milan, and Venice, and the Papal States which were located around Rome and central Italy.
Interestingly, Italy was only unified in 1860 or so, which was also when the Civil War began in the U.S. Pretty fascinating thought when you think about it. Other European countries such as France, England, Spain, and the Netherlands had been consolidated since late medieval times.
