Answer on Can use Globe simcard for Nokia E5 to use wifi to set up for email, ym and Ovi chat? (philippines)?
Your Nokia Phone is "Simblocked" to Smart sim only. Meaning your phone can only be use and operated using a Smart Simcard only and not Globe sim or any other kinds of Network Sim. If you bring your phone to any "Cellphone Repair Shop/Center" and tell them to fix and make it an "Openline Phone". Then you can use your Globe Sim on that phone. An "Openline Phone" means that any brand of phone whether it is Nokia, Samsung, Lg, Motorola, Blackberry, etc has the capability to operate whatever Simcard or Network (Smart, Globe, Sun) is being used/ inserted on the phone.
Once your Nokia E5 became an "Openline Phone" you can now use you Globe Sim and do everything you want to do, connecting in Internet through WiFi. You can also use Globe for wifi to set up email and use ym and ovi chat instead of Smart as long as your phone has that WiFi feature.
Once your Globe sim worked on the phone, Globe will automatically detect a new simcard being loaded to a new phone. They will send you a text message saying "Globe Advisory: You'll be receiving GPRS/MMS settings for ur phone within 24 hours for you to experience GPRS/MMS service. Please save the settings even if you have previous settings to ensure these are complete. This free message is automatically sent to new Globe phones".
You also have to set up again an email wifi, on selecting yahoo icon, entering username and password in an appropriate internet page.
