Hi there, I have just started a diet and fitness regimen. I weigh 100kilos (I know, heavy!) and am 5'7. I need to lose about 40 kilos and tonight have been jogging for the first time in like 8 years! I found it tricky, but kept going with a sort of walk twenty paces/jog twenty paces / walk 40 paces/jog 40 paces/ approach, followed by power walking and a 7 minute jog (at a snails pace) at the end. What I want to know now is what sort of things I can eat. Do I go for the low fat, high protein mid range carbs approach or the high protein approach? Currently I am eating an egg white (2 egg whites) omelette with a side of spinach and 2 slices of whole grain bread. Is that ok or should I be eating something else?
Any tips would be gratefully received. I am going to be running three times a week to start off with and then hopefully will build myself up to be able to run for a longer period of time.

veggies fruit -baby carrots are good for snacks and late night snacks
lots of water your mouth will get dry if you don't have 8 glasses
turkey ie lean protein 1x a week
