I am planning to go to Italy this summer, but I feel so overwhelmed and I have no clue where to start planning. It seems like there are so so so many wonderful cities and so much to do! Can someone suggest a few cities and must-see's.
I am going to be with my father, little sister, and cousin who is my age, so not so much disco's party scene.
Anything that you have experienced in Italy and loved, feel free to tell me about.
Thank you so much!
Answer on Planning a trip to Italy and I don't know where to start! Suggestions please?
Don't make the biggest mistake that foreign visitors often make: they think that Italy is a small country, with few "must-see" places easy to reach in few hours, and they spend some days turning around here and there, spending a lot of money and most of their time travelling, without enjoying any of the places they see. It would be very easy to make a list of beautiful places: one could say "Rome, Venice, Palermo, Dolomites, Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa, Naples, Lake Como, Siena, Padua, Milan, San Gimignano..." and so away. But to see the best way these places you'd need two months at least.
Buy a good guidebook (they are usually much more reliable than websites) and choose one place or one area, or places not too far one from another, and plan to visit these places well and without hurry.
